AVSL Round 4 Glenhuntly & Doncaster - 15 Nov
Well done by all who competed at Glenhuntly and Doncaster yesterday. Especially well done by our new athletes.
- Tessa Davison starred in the 1500m running 5:04 in U14. Outstanding!
- Andrew Duncan was impressive in the walk 8:11 for a big 360 points. It must be 30 years since he last competed with us.
- Anthony Huynh debuted in the 100m and 400m, running our quickest 400
- Ian Lawford ran a sizzling 9:41 in the 3K
Overall we scored 11,939 points, a bit down from our 14k+ in rounds 1 and 2. We finished 8th, but behind the bottom 2 teams Sandringham and Ringwood. So we’re now in the threat of the relegation zone again. Sandringham, who were last, scored over 20,000 points to finish second, showing what they’re capable of. We’ll need to stay ahead of Ringwood and Corio to stay out of relegation. But we were missing a few of our key athletes yesterday – Linda Buttigieg, Shane Carstairs, James McEniry, Shane Carstairs. so hopefully with a few back we can knock off a few other clubs.
Hopefully everyone can make our big powerplay Round 6, also at Glenhuntly and Doncaster. We’ll need all hands on deck to get our absolutely biggest score possible for double points. Entries will open from Wednesday.
