AVSL Round 2 - Frankston 24 Oct

Good results again in Round 2 and well done by all who ran, jumped and threw so well. I’ll give a full results review when o get back on Friday but some quick highlights.

- we were missing our top 2 scorers from round 1, Jack and Christine. So our points were a bit lower in Round 2
- But we still had 29 athletes, and 19 who did 2 events or more
- we finished 6th with 16,716 points
- we had an impressive 6 athletes who scored over 1,000 points
- James McEniry was our highest point scorer with 1148 points including an amazing 450 points for his 50+ 800m in 2:14
- Craig Sanford also scored a big 433 points for his impressive 2:16 50+ 800m. We are lucky to have 2 of the top masters 800m runners in our team.
- Linda Buttigieg scored a big 1088 points with 409 points from her big 36m hammer
- Niamh O’Reilly also scored over 400 points with 401 for her 12:43 3k. She scored 1019 points in total.
- Ryan Bentley scored 1040 points with 387 for his 2:04 800m
- Shane Carstairs was back with a big 1022 points from his 3 throws including 384 for his shot put
- Amy also scored over 400 points with 409 for her impressive 10:57 3k
- it was great to see our u16 boys Oliver and Zane out again. Doing 5 events between them. Well done boys.
