History
Athletics Waverley was founded in 1965 and has a proud history. The following Waverley athletes have represented Australia at the Olympics and
Commonwealth Games: Robert Stone, Michael Harvey, Kate Anderson. Michelle Baumgartner, Sonia Brito and Lisa Lightfoot.
We pride ourselves as being a friendly club that encourages athletes of all standards and all age groups (U 14 to veterans) to have fun and achieve their potential.
Our facilities at Central Reserve Glen Waverley boast the best grass track in Victoria, a well-quipped weights room and clubhouse.
We compete in the South Eastern Region summer competition from October to January (this season) at the Knox, Glenhuntly and Frankston venues. In winter (April to September) our cross-country runners compete in Melbourne country Victoria and are organised James Atkinson, Tel: 9533 5712.
We actively support the Glen Waverley Secondary College with an intensive twice weekly coaching programme starting 19th July at Central Reserve, which has enabled the school to successfully compete in the Vic Secondary Schools Championships.
We share the Central Reserve athletics facilities with the Waverley Little Athletics Centre and they are a very well organised club with whom we co-operate closely to keep athletes in our sport from age 5 to age (as old as you want).
